First Snow

We had our first snow of the season last weekend. It wasn't much, but it was enough for the kids to get out their snow gear and have a little fun. Below are a few pictures of their fun.

We are Thankful

Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving. We are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends. We hope that you were able to spend time with your loved ones and had a great turkey day. I know it has been a while since I've posted. I know it is bad when my brother tells me I'm not keeping up. Not too much has been going on. Soccer season is over, so life isn't quite as hectic. Emma is still taking dance and preparing for the upcoming rehearsal of the Nutcracker. She is loving it and can't wait to perform in a few weeks. It was nice to visit family and friends in PA for a few days. We were able to spend time with our nieces and nephews - which we always enjoy! The cousins have a great time together. Mom and I went shopping on Black Friday and Jonathan took the kids to Strasburg Railroad with his family. Jonathan and I got to go out on our own Friday night and had dinner with our good friend James. Now, we're back in Virginia. It'll be a busy month preparing fo the holidays...I will try to post more soon!

September 8, 2009 - First Day of School

Has it rellybeen two months?!

Wow...I had no idea that I last posted in August. As you can imagine, once school started, life has been crazy and busy! So, where to begin to catch everyone up.

School: The kids have been doing well in school. Emma started her final year in the elementary school. She is in fifth grade and has the same teacher that she did last year. Mr. Stonebraker looped with his class, so it means that all of the same kids are in the same class. I can't believe she is in fifth grade. She is growing up so fast. Emma is playing soccer and often plays goalie. She also started dance class. She is very busy with chorus and percussion at school, as well as Girl Scouts - no wonder I'm going crazy!

Owen started second grade and he is thriving! He loves his teacher Mrs. Steele and he is with a lot of good friends in his class. Owen is playing soccer again and really enjoying it. He still loves playing the Wii and his DS and he enjoys reading. Owen is still involved in Scouts and having fun with that.

Logan is going to be five in a few days. I can't believe my baby is almost five. He is loving preschool with Miss Beth. It is a bitter sweet year - our last one with our beloved Ms. Beth - yet our last year of paying for day care!! Logan is the comedian of the family. He isn't shy and he has a HUGE personality - in other words, he's trouble! He still has his best girl Maddie and is looking forward to his Star Wars birthday party this weekend.

Jonathan and I have been extremely busy with school and work. I was very fortunate to go away with a friend for a few days last week. My friend Kim and I headed to Florida to swim with the dolphins at Discovery Cove. It was an amazing experience and it was quite nice to get away. Jonathan and the kids held down the fort and Mommy got a much needed break!

We're also in the process of getting our house ready to sell. It's a lot harder to find the time to paint and spackle when you're running three kids here and there! Hopefully by Spring time we will be house hunting!

That's about it for now. I will post some pictures from the past two months. Hope you are all doing well! Miss you all!

Cub Scout Day Camp

Owen went to his first Scout Camp this week. He had a great time, despite the heat. I volunteered for two of the days. Boy...I am getting old - I was exhausted by the end of each day! Anyways, the boys got to try archery, sling shots, and fishing. They also had different stations-like crafts, sports, and space. They also got to go swimming each day. It was very well run and the boys made some wonderful memories. Enjoy the pictures from the week.

Making Space Slime
Sling shots - what every boy loves!
Learning to whittle (sp.) with soap and a plastic knife.
Learning to tie knots
Jumping in the pool! Time to cool down!
Making a rocket with a 2 liter bottle.
Logan and Emma spent time on the playground and doing activities. They also got to go swimming with the boys each day.
The whole gang after a long, hot, and sweaty week!!!Owen caught 3 fish in a row on the last day. He didn't even lose his bait. Needless to say, he was very happy since he hadn't caught a single thing all week.
