Random Stuff

Emma was so excited to be nominated as a rookie safety patrol. One student from each fourth grade class was chosen to be a safety patrol in training and she was the lucky one in her class. Next year she will start the year out in fifth grade and help train the newbies. We are so proud of her!

The kids each got a new fishie this week. Emma decided that she wanted a fish last week, so she used her own money to buy her fish. She got two...Shark Bait and Guppy. Then, the boys wanted one of course! Logan got his and named it Traffic Light (don't ask me?!). Owen did get one, but I don't have any pictures of it yet. He was a big spender and bought a 12 cent fish! That boy likes to save his money!! So far...all of the fish have survived! It's been a week and we haven't had any casualties. I keep reminding the kids not to get too attached.

Owen had another baseball game. He is doing fine, but is becoming very discouraged. He hasn't had a hit the past two games and is very upset about it. We're going to keep practicing and encouraging him. It's so hard to watch your child want something so badly and not be able to help them. Hopefully he'll have more luck next game.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day on Sunday. We started out by going to Krispy Kreme for breakfast. Then we went to Westmoreland Berry Farm to pick strawberries. It was a nice warm day. We picked about 16 quarts of strawberries, did a few activities, and headed over to the park where we dipped our feet in the Potomac. We came back to the house and enjoyed a picnic outside. It was a really nice day. I am so lucky to have three beautiful children and a fabulous husband!

Slacker

According to my mother, I have been slacking with the photos on here. So here are a few from the past few weeks. We've been very busy with Scouts, baseball, and softball. Owen earned his tiger badge and is now a wolf. He's been playing baseball and enjoying that. Emma has had one softball practice, but the weather hasn't been cooperating this week. Enjoy the photos!

Old Mine Ranch Farm

We went on our annual trip to the farm with Ms. Beth's Daycare on Friday. Logan was lucky to have both Mommy and Daddy as chaperones. We had a great day...the rain held off and the sun came out. The kids had fun riding the pony, feeding the animals, eating a picnic lunch, and playing in the tubes. It was a great day...can't believe we only have one more farm trip with Ms. Beth!
We started off the day with a family life lesson!?!
