December Activities
December has been a busy month...here are a few things that have been going on...
Visiting S. Claus

Nutcracker Twisted
Last weekend, Emma was in the Nutcracker Twisted...and it was exactly that. The classic Nutcracker story with a twist. It was an incredible show and Emma had a blast. She was one of the rats...it's a little hard to see her on stage, but she did great.
Blizzard 2009
We were socked with a winter storm on Saturday! We measured between 20 and 24 inches when it was all said and done. Needless to say, Virginia doesn't usually see this kind of snow. We were a bit disappointed with the timing of the storm. Emma and I were supposed to go see the Rockettes in Washington D.C. with Nana on Saturday. Luckily, we are going to be able to get a refund. I was really afraid that I would have to eat the cost of the tickets. Then today, we were supposed to have Christmas with the McElwains at Brett and Katies. Unfortunately that didn't happen either. It is after 9 o'clock on Sunday and a snow plow still hasn't made it to our street. Anyways...we enjoyed some family time this weekend. The kids had a blast playing outside. The grownups are sore from shoveling and moving snow! We baked some cookies, wrapped some gifts, and watched some movies. Jonathan is headed back to work tomorrow. School has been cancelled the rest of the week so we can start our Christmas break a little bit sooner.

The hat that Logan is wearing was Jonathan's when he was a kid. He saves everything!!! (So glad he saved this!)

First Snow
We had our first snow of the season last weekend. It wasn't much, but it was enough for the kids to get out their snow gear and have a little fun. Below are a few pictures of their fun.

We are Thankful
Hope you all had a wonderful thanksgiving. We are so thankful for our wonderful family and friends. We hope that you were able to spend time with your loved ones and had a great turkey day. I know it has been a while since I've posted. I know it is bad when my brother tells me I'm not keeping up. Not too much has been going on. Soccer season is over, so life isn't quite as hectic. Emma is still taking dance and preparing for the upcoming rehearsal of the Nutcracker. She is loving it and can't wait to perform in a few weeks. It was nice to visit family and friends in PA for a few days. We were able to spend time with our nieces and nephews - which we always enjoy! The cousins have a great time together. Mom and I went shopping on Black Friday and Jonathan took the kids to Strasburg Railroad with his family. Jonathan and I got to go out on our own Friday night and had dinner with our good friend James. Now, we're back in Virginia. It'll be a busy month preparing fo the holidays...I will try to post more soon!
